Songbird

Tears seeping my eyes,

Sweeping me off feet,

They squish to tell me

I have been plodding

For so long,

Searching for a chest,

To rest my zestful heart.

Oh, the pain you did see

Scuttled in those tears,

Ramping up my fears,

They clang to tell me

I have been squirming

For so long,

Trying to escape

This cyclonic void.

Bridge

A slow, steady gait,

A flap of the wings,

I fall for the bait,

And then it tinges…

“When I am blue

And dripping pain,

Hold me tight

And squeeze me dry.”

Emmanuel “A penny for my tots”
